On behalf of the men and women of the Campus Safety Department of The Claremont Colleges, it is my pleasure to welcome you to this website.  Each member of this organization is dedicated to providing the highest level of safety, service, and protection of our students, administration, staff, faculty, and our guests.  As a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-per-week, and year-round provider of service, we remain committed to ensuring the safest environment where your educational goals, social engagements, and recreational activities can be experienced in the safest manner possible.

The Campus Safety team is comprised of the Director, Captain/Assistant Director, Lieutenant, five sergeants, three corporals, and 20 patrol officers.  Our outstanding staff includes our Administrative Assistant, Emergency Services Manager, Clery Coordinator, Dispatch Supervisor and seven dispatchers, and Student Workers. Each and every one of these professionals is committed to your safety.

A Community Partnership in Safety

The Campus Safety Department works collaboratively with each and every stakeholder across the “7C’s” and the surrounding communities of the campus and you are an integral part of that relationship. We strive to create and maintain a positive atmosphere that enables and encourages learning in a safe, efficient, and responsible environment. In addition to these efforts, and to continue this success, it is imperative that everyone maintains a proactive and responsible approach towards their personal safety.

The Claremont Colleges enjoy a long-standing, strong and cooperative relationship with the City of Claremont as well as the Claremont Police and Los Angeles County Fire Departments. This partnership has proven itself to be mutually beneficial throughout the years. By utilizing a proactive approach to safety in which we emphasize information, preparation, and collaboration we continue to effectively design our crime prevention strategies based upon feedback from our campus communities and the professional application of that input through our safety professionals.

I encourage you to browse this site regularly and acquaint yourself with the services we provide, and I hope you will find the information helpful and informative. I welcome any questions, comments, or suggestions you have that may assist us in our continued efforts toward the goal of making The Claremont Colleges among the safest campuses in the country.
