Join OBSA and IDAS for our third conversation in the Centering Blackness series! This is a special crossover event for the OBSA Caribbean Film Festival. Kicking of a weeklong series of pop up events and activities, attendees will receive a FREE copy of Jamaica Kincaid's  An Encyclopedia of Gardening for Colored Children along with free lunch from Hilltop Jamaican restaurant.  Panelists: Randy Pierre, Professor Westenly Alcenat, Professor Sherrard-Johnson along with student co-facilitators.

Join us for a Q&A panel and discussion, Panelists will appear virtually, and the session will be moderated in person by Charlston Stovall (Pomona). This panel is a continuation of the previous talk and will explore industry and academic careers available with a Psychology PhD.

Dance workshops leading up to the film showcase celebrating Caribbean history and culture! All who attend the workshops receive a FREE Festival tee shirt with the OBSA Caribbean festival logo designed by Zariah Folkes. OBSA Caribbean Film Festival: Live Steel Drum Band at Pomona Walker Beach w/Hilltop cuisine

As a prelude to the film showcase, all are welcome to enjoy a free live steel drum band performance by Island Rhythms, at Walker Beach (College Way across from the Library) starting at noon. From noon-2:35pm on Walker Beach, enjoy a Jamaican patty reception and then walk over to the short film showcase (3pm) followed by dinner (4:45pm) at Rose Hills Auditorium
