Part interview, part lecture & part demo, this workshop explores the Black history of Chicago house and dance music. Learn how these art forms evolved with Jay Simon, Los Angeles-based producer and founder of Must Have Records. Jay plays, makes, and is inspired by many forms of music, mostly rooted, but not limited to the midwestern lineage of black underground dance music. Moderated by Prof. Mukasa Mubirumusoke (CMC).
