Melinda brings more than 18 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education public safety, emergency management, and risk mitigation to the Claremont Colleges. Throughout her career, she has led complex, multi‑site safety operations encompassing emergency preparedness, threat assessment, investigations, security technology, dispatch services, and regulatory compliance. Her leadership is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, with a focus on fostering a safe, welcoming, and resilient campus environment.
Melinda is committed to strengthening campus safety partnerships across the Colleges and with external public safety agencies while advancing equitable, people‑centered practices. By integrating technology, training, and thoughtful, community‑centered approaches, she looks forward to working closely with the campus community to enhance preparedness, build trust, and promote the well‑being of students, faculty, and staff.
