Dear TCC Community,

I am excited to welcome the Class of 2027 onto campus for their first fall at Claremont. While much has evolved since the first days of the COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 remains part of our day-to-day life at Student Health Services. Through cooperation and teamwork, we continue to work across our college consortium to support health, wellness, and learning.

We ask for your part in helping keep our community safe by considering a mask when you are sick or have been a close contact with someone with COVID. Please check out this website from our colleagues at John Hopkins for a refresher on the do’s and don’ts of masking.

This fall, we continue to support our campus community with vending machines providing PCR tests – you can find out more information and locations on campus here.

We are eagerly awaiting new COVID-19 vaccine boosters, which we will have available on campus.  As with other vaccines, they will be available by ordering from the manufacturer rather than provided by state and federal government resources. Once the vaccine booster is available, we will reach out with more information.

Here in Claremont, we are part of Los Angeles County. We appreciate the continued guidance from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health regarding contract tracing requirements and isolation guidelines.

As in prior years, we will continue to monitor cases and work with the community to support measures that help us to live and learn well and safely.

In partnership,
Stephanie Long, MD
Director, Student Health Services
