Come join CMC CARE + CLSA as we bring Vianney Harelly to The Claremont Colleges!

Vianney is a Mexican American poet who talks a lot about what it means to be Latinx and the struggles often faced but not talked about in our communities. We hope that through this inner child healing poetry workshop, we can create a community and safe space within the Latinx students at the 5Cs. Such topics could range from mental health to growing up, to cultural norms. Our audience will mostly be Latinx students since that is what Vianney Harelly’s poetry is about, but it will be open to all Claremont college students. We will hopefully be discussing some of Vianney Harelly’s poetry as well as making our own so we can both understand each other more but also realize that as Latinx students in PWIs- we are not alone. Overall, with this event in mind, we hope to foster a space that will result in open dialogue, a sense of community, and a deeper understanding of the struggles faced by Latinx students on campus.
